Make your collard green wraps taste even better

Collard greens can be eaten raw, without any need to steam them. You can also use the leaves as wraps in their raw state. However, if you prefer a less crunchy wrap, you can steam the collard leaves to make them tender and easy to roll.

Try adding sautéed wild mushrooms. Morels, Porcini, and chanterelles work especially well. These mushrooms have a rich and savoury taste that perfectly complements the mild flavour of the collard greens, making your wraps even more delicious.

  • Porcini mushrooms, in particular, have a nutty flavour that pairs beautifully with the fresh crunch of the collard greens.
  • Morels, with their distinct honeycomb structure, soak up the flavours of your wrap’s fillings and release them with every bite.
  • Chanterelles, which are highly valued for their peppery taste, provide a touch of spice that can enhance the overall flavour of your wrap.

Don’t forget to fry your selected mushrooms in some butter until they’re golden brown, and season them with a hint of salt and pepper. This easy method brings out the rich tastes of mushrooms, creating a delicious meal with collard green wraps. Enjoy!
